‘The Hangover Part III’ trailer: The wolfpack returns to Sin City

The Hangover Part III

(From Geeks of Doom) Probably the most common gripe people had with The Hangover Part II was that it was way to similar too The Hangover. Director Todd Phillips promised he would redeem himself in the third and final entry of the trilogy by making The Hangover Part III the darkest film of the three by killing off one of its vital characters.

Looking at the teaser trailer for The Hangover Part III, there are a lot of characters from the previous films that come back to reprise their respective roles, but one character is notably absent from it. Find out who after the jump.

For some odd reason Warner Bros. decided to kick off the marketing for the film by debuting the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II-esque poster.

The “It All Ends” tagline was a fun jab at the film – considering both are actually owned by WB it’s kind of cool.

Unlike previous Hangover films, this doesn’t start off with another scene of the group waking up from blacking out after a night of drunkenness and mayhem.

The trailer goes straight into the wolfpack (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis) returning to Las Vegas.

Heather Graham, Ken Jeong, Justin Bartha, and Jamie Chung also return to reprise their respective roles.

John Goodman joins the Hangover crew as an antagonist, and Melissa McCarthy looks like she plays Galifianakis’ equal.

Overall the jokes hit some points, but misses a lot of them. But that last joke in the trailer makes it worth while, showing that maybe this film can redeem itself and end on a high note.

The Hangover Part III opens in theaters on May 24.
