Teaser trailer of Rurouni Kenshin 2

(From ABS-CBN News) Well-known antagonist Makoto Shishio makes an appearance in the newly released teaser for the second installment of the “Rurouni Kenshin” live action movie.

Tatsuya Fujiwara, who played Light Yagami in the “Death Note” live action films and Shuya Nanahara in “Battle Royale,” is seen taking on the role of the burnt and bandaged Shishio in the teaser for “Rurouni Kenshin 2: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc.”

A scene in the video shows protagonist Kenshin Himura (Takeru Satoh) running on a rooftop against the backdrop of a burning village, as well as in various fight scenes.

Early this month, photos of the characters who will be part of the two-part sequel of the live action movie were released on the “Rurouni Kenshin” website.

Tao Tsuchiya is set to play the popular female ninja Misao Makimachi, Yusuki Iseya will take on the role of Oniwabanshu leader Aoshi Shinomori, while the group’s elder member Kashiwazaki Nenji or Okina will be portrayed by Min Tanaka.

Sojiro Seta, the strongest member of the Juppongatana group led by Shishio, will be played by Ryunosuke Kamiki.

The pair of Rurouni Kenshin live-action sequel movies — Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Taika-hen (The Great Kyoto Fire arc) and Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no Saigo-hen (The End of a Legend arc) — hits cinemas in Japan in summer 2014.
