(From Business Insider) The “Mass Effect” series is beloved by millions of people, both hardcore gamers and casuals alike.
It’s a space opera like no other in video games; it shares more in common with the “Star Wars” film series than it does with other game franchises.
The original trilogy followed the exploits of Commander Shepard, a player-created character who was shaped by your actions in-game.
Unfortunately, when the credits rolled on “Mass Effect 3,” the story was over. No more space opera, no more tales of heroic Commander Shepard. That’s where “Mass Effect: Andromeda” comes in.
The next “Mass Effect” is expected in spring 2017, but we just got a look at a lengthy new trailer.
The trailer shows that while the crew and passengers of the gigantic space ship Hyperion might have longed for a peaceful arrival after hundreds of years of space travel, peace is probably the last thing they’ll ever get.
The trailer hints that the game’s protagonists will be facing a new enemy. However, surrender is not an option and neither is going home because travelling between galaxies is most likely a one way trip. To survive, the new colonists have to find, build and defend their new home in this galaxy.
“Mass Effect: Andromeda” release date arrives by March 2017.
