Lex Luthor meets the devil

bvs

(From Daily Mail) It has confounded the critics by raking it in at the box office.

And people who enjoyed Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice got a hint of what is to come after a deleted scene was released which showed Lex Luthor having a vision of a potential future enemy.

Jesse Eisenberg’s character is shown sitting in a pool of brown goo as a Kryptonian metallic hologram machine shows a mysterious creature flying overhead.

The vision dissipates after a squadron of soldiers abseil into the cavern to take him prisoner, with the self-styled evil genius later being imprisoned and having his head shaved in the character’s iconic style at the jail.

He is of course somewhat unpopular at the end of the movie after creating the Doomsday creature using a mixture of his own blood, General Zod’s dead body and advanced Kryptonian technology salvaged from the Man Of Steel villain’s spaceship.

As the film ends with Superman seemingly dead after sacrificing his life to stop his most powerful foe Doomsday, who killed him in the comics in the 1990s, it is surely a reason to cheer that the hero’s heart suddenly started beating as he languished in his grave, suggesting he is alive after all.

No doubt he sees it as a case of omelette and eggs however, as his last words on-screen are the ominous, ‘ding, ding, ding.’

It is thought the creature could be a dark and gritty reimagining of Steppenwolf, the vicious lieutenant of one of Superman’s greatest enemies, the alien warlord Darkseid.

The character, created by legendary comic writer and artist Jack Kirby, is the tyrannical ruler of the planet Apokolips, and is hellbent on conquering the universe and eliminating free will.

It is also thought his character could even be the villain’s father Yuga Khan, a New God who is even more dangerous than his offspring, a development that will surely disappoint the Dark Knight and his new chum the Man Of Steel if he decides to pay Earth a visit.

Whoever it is, it looks like the chaos and mass destruction will continue in the latest addition to the cinematic DC Universe.
