Jon Snow is not coming back

(From Hollywood Reporter) Jon Snow isn’t coming back…so says Kit Harington.

The season 6 finale of Game of Thrones finally saw Snow’s charmed existence come to a heartbreaking end with the unassuming and apparently innocuous Olly plotting not only his bloody, stabby demise but wielding the final few blows.

Speaking with EW the English actor spoke about Snow’s death and dashed the hopes of fans hoping he may make a return saying emphatically “I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead.”

Harington was asked directly about fan speculation that Thrones author George R.R. Martin had left Snow’s death ambiguous in the books, in particular fan speculation is rife that by using special powers Snow can transfer his consciousness into his Direwolf Ghost.

Harington revealed that the shows producers made it pretty clear his character was “done”. “I had a sit-down with Dan [Weiss] and David [Beinhoff], we did the Tony Soprano walk [letting an actor know they’re being whacked]. And they said, ‘Look, you’re gone, it’s done.’”

Harington added that that he “kind of knew it was coming,” even though he hadn’t read A Dance With Dragons, but said “he didn’t realize it would be the final shot of the season.”

Harington said he loved the way the producers utilized Olly as the person to wield the kill stroke saying that it “felt like the right way for it to happen.” He said he would be really interested to see the audiences reaction and he hoped it wouldn’t be a case of “f— he’s dead, thank f— he’s dead.”
