Bike fan builds his own electric chopper

(From The Sun) Bike nut Nigel Bryant has built his own chopper — powered by pedals and an electric battery.

It looks like the Harley-Davidsons from cult 1969 film Easy Rider, famed for featuring classic Born To Be Wild.

But his green machine is virtually silent and emission-free. Nigel — made redundant as a university technician — spent £1,000 and a year to create it.

The 56-year-old, from Poole, Dorset, said it is legally a bicycle.

He added: “I wanted a chopper that was eco-friendly.”

But a long road trip is out of the question — it needs a recharge after 30 miles.
